President's Message

Ellen DiosoI want to thank you for having the confidence in me to serve as your President for 2008-2010. I am very humbled and proud to serve the PNAM membership.

When I accepted this leadership role, I know it is not an “honorary position”. It is an active position. I intend to lead by example and hope that the officers will do the same. Let us keep in mind that no leader ever won a battle, a campaign or a project single handedly. I encourage you to get involved and get connected with PNAM. You don’t have to be an Officer or in the
Executive Board.

Change is good. However, we must keep the good foundations which were established by our Advisors and Past Presidents. I would like each PNAM member to seek harmony and participate in striving for “oneness”. Let us accept the strengths of others acknowledging that we cannot know or everything on our own. Together we will be able to accomplish that no one can achieve alone. “Working together works.”

I hope you are excited as I am about the coming years, to make progress with membership. Tell the PNAM story to all you meet. Cast and Re-Cast the vision of VISIBILITY, VIABILITY and VITALITY.

Two years ago, the association decided to embark on two year term of office for elected officers. This change was to make PNAM more responsive to the needs of the membership and be line with the PNAA. The change will go beyond the term of office-greater member involvement, increase involvement of student nurses, increased collaboration and networking with nursing and other organizations and the formation of “speakers bureau” from the membership. PNAM will also continue to provide educational programs and sustain membership
